Park City itinerary scene

Weekend itinerary

Main Street, Mountain Village, and Olympic Park

Walk Main Street on Friday, ski Mountain Village or ride Round Valley on Saturday, then leave Sunday for Atticus coffee, Utah Olympic Park, and I-80.

By Cal Mercer — a Second Star Guide itinerary

Friday stays in Old Town, Saturday uses one mountain area, and Sunday runs through Utah Olympic Park toward I-80.

Best length

2 nights

Two nights cover one mountain day, one Main Street evening, and a shorter Sunday stop without repeating the same resort district.

Stay

Washington School House

A small Old Town boutique hotel in a converted 1889 schoolhouse, within the steep but short walk between Main Street restaurants and the Town Lift district.

Main activity

Park City skiing

Use the Park City Mountain report for a Mountain Village ski day or Mountain Trails Foundation status for Round Valley and Armstrong.

Pace

Main Street, one mountain, Olympic history

Winter first-timers can ski Mountain Village without crossing to Canyons. Summer visitors can ride Round Valley or hike Armstrong, then return to Old Town for dinner.

Friday

Check in, walk Main Street, and eat nearby

Old Town gives the first evening a clear sequence: check in, walk the historic commercial blocks, and keep dinner within the same district.

Saturday

Ski Mountain Village or ride Round Valley

In winter, start at Mountain Village and keep Canyons or Deer Valley for a separate day. In summer, ride Round Valley or hike Armstrong before the afternoon heat and trail traffic build.

10:00 AM

Main activity

Mountain Village in winter, Round Valley in summer

Winter first-timers can ski from Mountain Village toward King Con or Silverlode without spending the day crossing the resort. In summer, Round Valley offers lower-elevation riding close to town; Armstrong is the hiking alternative.

4:30 PM

Afternoon

Return to Old Town before dinner

Change out of ski or trail clothes, then walk lower Main Street and Heber Avenue before dinner.

7:00 PM

Dinner

Book Riverhorse on Main for Saturday dinner

Riverhorse is the formal Main Street dinner. Handle is the seasonal-American alternative one block away; Firewood serves dinner Tuesday through Saturday.

Viator

Heber Valley & Midway Crater Excursion from Park City

Sunday

Atticus coffee, Olympic history, and I-80

Start on lower Main Street at Atticus, then drive toward Utah Olympic Park and Kimball Junction before joining I-80.

9:00 AM

Sunday morning

Coffee at Atticus before Utah Olympic Park

Atticus serves coffee, tea, and light breakfast on lower Main Street. If Atticus is closed, Five5eeds or Harvest offers a fuller breakfast before departure.
