Things to do in Park City

Walk Main Street from the Park City Museum to the Egyptian Theatre, see the ski jumps and sliding track at Utah Olympic Park, then choose Round Valley singletrack, Armstrong trail, or a summer chairlift.

Old Town

Park City Museum and Main Street

The museum at 528 Main Street turns the surrounding brick storefronts, mine history, and steep commercial blocks into more than a shopping walk. Continue uphill to galleries and the Egyptian Theatre.

Kimball Junction

Utah Olympic Park

The nearly 400-acre training site holds six Nordic ski jumps, a sliding track, and a 2002 Winter Games museum. Allow time for the museum and overlooks even if the seasonal adventure rides are not part of the visit.

Wasatch trails

Round Valley or Armstrong

Round Valley spreads open, lower-elevation riding and walking east of town. Armstrong climbs through aspen and conifer from the Old Town side; resort trail systems add lift-served biking and hiking in summer.

Old Town on foot

Give Main Street more than a restaurant reservation

Park City Museum occupies the former City Hall at 528 Main Street. Its permanent exhibits cover the silver-mining town, underground work, fire, transportation, and the shift to skiing. That context makes the uphill walk past narrow storefronts and old commercial facades easier to read.

Continue to the Egyptian Theatre for Park City's performance and independent-film history, then use the gallery blocks for a slower return downhill. Together they make a substantial snow-free half day and an in-town substitute when storms, mud, or smoke rule out a mountain outing.

Olympic and mountain choices

Match one major outing to the season

Utah Olympic Park's museum and outdoor venue remain useful year-round, while ski terrain, singletrack, scenic lifts, and outdoor concerts each depend on a narrower operating window.

A museum-and-venue visit

See the Olympic museum, Nordic jumps, and sliding track. The venue is near Kimball Junction, so it combines naturally with an I-80 arrival or departure.

A winter mountain day

Use Mountain Village for classic Park City access, Canyons for its larger slopeside village, or Deer Valley for a separate ski-only day.

A lower trail day

Round Valley is the more open, lower-elevation choice for riding or walking. Armstrong starts closer to Old Town and climbs into shaded forest.

A lift-served summer day

Deer Valley offers bike-park access, scenic chairlifts, hiking, and Snow Park concerts. Park City Mountain runs its own summer program on operator dates.

Indoor and in-town alternatives

Rain can leave trail surfaces muddy after Main Street dries, and hot, smoky, or fire-restriction days can make an exposed ride a poor use of the afternoon. Park City Museum and Utah Olympic Park supply substantial indoor stops; Main Street galleries and the Egyptian Theatre keep the day in Old Town.

The bookable rail and crater trips below depart in Heber Valley or Midway rather than Park City. Both require a drive out of town; Park City Museum, Utah Olympic Park, Round Valley, and Armstrong remain the local choices.
